The United Nations was created on March 9, 2021, as a staff-led effort to hold Olympic games between multiple servers. This effort consisted of an informal discord to facilitate communication between staff and government. The original members included the Republic of Stratham and the Commonwealth of Redmont. Later that year, the Federation of Harlon established a delegation to the discord in November 2021. The formal establishment of a United Nations charter and governance structure was not created until April 2022. Since June 2022, the United Nations has elected a General Secretariat to manage the organization.

Since the establishment of a Charter, the United Nations has been governed by a General Assembly, where each member state gets 1 (one) vote on matters of international importance.

The United Nations controversially struggles with activity, given the inwards foreign policy outlook of many governments. Most governments focus on their own server rather than trying to be diplomatic with other servers.

==Harlon's Role in the United Nations==

The Federation of Harlon has had a growing role in the United Nations in the past year. Delegations to the United Nations from Harlon are led by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Since the election of the [[Harlon Progress Party]], the government has prioritized advocacy for admitting other servers such as Limaru to the United Nations.
